ADVENTURE POLICIES

THE DOG COMPANY ADVENTURE POLICY & AGREEMENT
By scheduling my dog for an Adventure with The Dog Company, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the following policies and requirements.

ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES & OFF-SITE TRANSPORTATION
I understand that The Dog Company Adventures may include transportation in The Dog Company's Adventure Van and supervised activities at locations away from The Dog Company facility. Activities may include, but are not limited to, swimming/wading, hiking, walking, exploring, structured outings, and other dog-friendly adventures selected by The Dog Company.

I understand that off-site activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to uneven terrain, wildlife, weather conditions, interactions with unfamiliar people or animals, transportation, and other circumstances that may occur outside of The Dog Company's facility.

I authorize The Dog Company and its staff to transport my dog to and from Adventure locations and to supervise my dog during all Adventure activities.

Dogs will be transported in secure Ruff Land Performance Kennels or other appropriate safety equipment as determined by The Dog Company.

The Dog Company reserves the right to modify, shorten, relocate, or cancel an Adventure when weather, traffic, facility conditions, staffing, safety concerns, or other circumstances make the planned activity unsafe or impractical.

ADVENTURE SCHEDULE
Wednesday and Thursday Adventures will depart The Dog Company as they see fit. Dogs may be out anywhere from 9am-4pm.

The Adventure Van will depart The Dog Company promptly at 10:00 AM and is expected to return by approximately 3:00 PM on Saturdays. For dogs attending as a drop-in, scheduled arrival is between 9:15–9:45 AM. Drop-in dogs must be picked up between 3:00–3:30 PM. Any drop-in dog picked up after 3:30 PM will be subject to a $60 late-pickup fee. (Saturdays)

Promptness is extremely important because the Adventure Van must leave on schedule. Dogs arriving after the designated drop-off window may not be able to participate in that day's Adventure.

The Dog Company may make exceptions to the standard schedule when agreed upon in advance.

WEATHER & CANCELLATIONS
The safety and wellbeing of the dogs and staff is our first priority.

Adventures may be cancelled, postponed, shortened, or modified due to extreme heat, extreme cold, thunderstorms, severe weather, unsafe trail conditions, excessive traffic, holiday traffic, or any other condition that The Dog Company determines may create an unsafe environment.

Because weather and off-site conditions can change quickly, The Dog Company reserves the right to make a same-day decision regarding whether an Adventure will proceed.

If The Dog Company cancels an Adventure due to weather or safety concerns, clients will be notified and any applicable Adventure charge will be handled according to the current Adventure cancellation policy.

LEASH & COLLAR REQUIREMENTS
All dogs must arrive and leave The Dog Company on a secure leash.

Dogs participating in Adventures must wear a quick-release collar. Collars must fit securely and be in good condition.

Because dogs participating in Adventures may be exposed to unfamiliar environments, people, animals, noises, and distractions, proper leash and collar equipment is required for everyone's safety. The Dog Company will use their own tools to handle dogs during outings.

The Dog Company may require or use additional equipment, including harnesses, long lines, or other safety equipment, depending on the dog's individual needs and the activity planned.

FLEA & TICK PREVENTION
Because Adventures may take place in outdoor areas, including grass, trails, wooded areas, and other natural environments, flea and tick prevention is strongly recommended and may be required for participation.

Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog's flea and tick prevention is current and appropriate for their dog.

The Dog Company is not responsible for fleas, ticks, bites, or other naturally occurring exposures associated with outdoor activities.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
All required vaccines must be current and on file with The Dog Company at least 7 days prior to participation.

Required vaccines include:

Rabies

Distemper

Bordetella

Dogs showing signs of illness, including vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, respiratory symptoms, fever, or other potentially communicable conditions, should not attend an Adventure.

If a dog becomes ill while attending an Adventure, The Dog Company may contact the owner.

If a veterinarian diagnoses a dog with a communicable illness, the dog will not be permitted to return until the appropriate veterinary clearance has been provided, when required by The Dog Company.

BEHAVIOR & SAFETY
All dogs participating in Adventures must be able to safely ride in a vehicle and participate in group activities appropriate for their individual temperament and behavior.

The Dog Company evaluates dogs based on size, temperament, play style, confidence, leash behavior, and overall suitability for the planned Adventure.

Not every dog is appropriate for every Adventure or location.

The Dog Company reserves the right to remove a dog from an Adventure at any time if the dog's behavior creates a safety concern for the dog, another dog, a staff member, or the public.

Behavioral concerns may include, but are not limited to:

Aggression toward people or dogs

Excessive reactivity

Repeated attempts to escape

Inability to safely ride in the Adventure Van

Excessive resource guarding

Behavior that prevents staff from safely supervising the group

Any other behavior determined to create an unsafe environment

If a dog is determined to be unsuitable for a particular Adventure, The Dog Company may require an alternative service, additional training, or may decline future Adventure participation.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION
I authorize The Dog Company to seek veterinary medical care for my dog if The Dog Company determines that medical attention is necessary or appropriate.

I understand that The Dog Company may transport my dog to a veterinary facility or emergency veterinary hospital in the event of an illness, injury, accident, or other emergency.

I give permission for my dog to be transported to Pets ER in the event of an emergency if my dog's primary veterinarian is unavailable or unable to provide immediate care.

I authorize The Dog Company to approve reasonable medical and/or emergency treatment recommended by a veterinarian, excluding euthanasia.

I understand that The Dog Company will make reasonable efforts to contact me or my emergency contact; however, I authorize The Dog Company to act in the best interest of my dog when immediate care is necessary and the owner cannot be reached.

I agree to reimburse The Dog Company for any veterinary, transportation, medical, or other expenses incurred on behalf of my dog.

TRANSPORTATION
I understand that my dog will be transported in a vehicle operated by The Dog Company or its authorized staff.

Dogs will be secured in appropriate kennels or other safety equipment during transportation.

I understand that transportation carries inherent risks, including vehicle accidents, sudden stops, road conditions, and other unforeseen circumstances.

The Dog Company will use reasonable care and appropriate safety procedures when transporting dogs.
